THE LIEBSTER AWARD

2:55:00 pm

I was recently nominated for The Liebster Award which is an award where bloggers come up with 11 different questions to tag other bloggers in, so that they can answer the questions and then come up with a new set of 11 questions and so on. Hopefully I explained that okay! It's a good way of promoting new bloggers. I was actually nominated for this award back when I first started blogging however it completely skipped my mind and I never got around to posting it. I was then nominated again recently by my friend Love. Life. Lipstick

The Questions

1. Favourite Colour?
Baby Blue

2. Favourite place in the world?
Would probably say Paris. I went to Disneyland years ago with my whole family and it was the best week I've ever had. We spent a couple of days in Disneyland and our last day around Paris, it was truly incredible.

3. Dream Career?
I never know what to say to this question as I feel like I'm not too sure as to what I want as my dream career. Being able to blog full time would be cool but I'd also love to do something makeup related as well.

4. Have you got a favourite film?
I have tons of movies that I love to watch over and over again, however if I had to choose a favourite it would be The Notebook.

5. Dogs or Cats?
Dogs

6. McDonald's or Burger King?
McDonald's

7. Favourite season and why?
Autumn because I love colours and how you can just snuggle up with blankets with a cup of hot chocolate. I also love Autumn coloured jumpers.

8. If you could bring back anyone from the dead, who would it be and why?
My Nan, only because I was just so close to her and I'd love to see her again.

9. Horror movie or Romance?
I feel like I can't choose between this one purely because I love horror movies as I love the feeling of anticipation and being scared, but on the other hand I love cute cheesy romance movies because they make me happy.

10. Favourite Actor?
Jonah Hill because I find him absolutely hilarious.

11. Why did you decide to do a blog?
I loved reading other people's blogs and one day I just randomly thought it'll be good to do this as a hobby and something to do in my spare time.

I nominate -

Here are my 11 questions for the next bloggers:
1. Twitter or Instagram?

5 WAYS TO USE COCONUT OIL

1:42:00 pm

I used to think that Coconut Oil was used just for cooking purposes, however over the years I have found out many different ways to use Coconut Oil and how many great health benefits it actually has. I use the brand Vita Coco which is 100% raw, extra virgin oil. I buy this from my local Holland and Barrett store. The best thing about this product is that it's super affordable and it has absolutely no harsh chemicals inside because it's completely natural. These are just some of my favourite ways to use Coconut Oil.

1. Hair Mask
My favourite way to use this oil is on my hair. There are so many hair masks on the market however I don't go for any of them because I have this amazing product to do all the work for me instead. Coconut Oil actually penetrates your hair shaft to moisturize, repair damaged hair and protect your hair from future heat damage, it's also good for getting rid of any dandruff. As the oil usually comes in a solid form, I just to warm it up by rubbing it in between my hands (never microwave it, as apparently it looses all the good nutrients) I then like to apply it to dry hair until my whole head of hair is covered. Then I usually wrap my hair up in either foil or clingfilm to keep all the heat in and I like to leave it on there for about an hour before washing it out.

2. Makeup Remover
Sometimes taking my makeup off at the end of the day feels like such a chore. This little gem makes makeup removing a whole lot easier than using makeup wipes. Take a scoop of this oil, rub it between your fingers and then massage this into your face. It'll act as a cleanser and the oil will help to break down any makeup on your skin. Just make sure to rinse your face off with warm water afterwards.

3. Lip Scrub
As we're now in the colder months, my lips tend to get dry very often. If you don't already own a lip scrub then simply mix some of the Coconut Oil with a bit of sugar and scrub your lips with it to take away any dead skin flakes. Rinse off with warm water and apply a lip balm then you're free of any dry lips.

4. Shaving Cream
This is a technique that I've only just discovered. I normally use conditioner to shave my legs with however Coconut Oil is incredible when it comes down to leg shaving. It does an amazing job in moisturizing your legs whilst shaving that sometimes I don't even need to use a moisturizer afterwards.

5. Body Lotion
It acts as a fantastic moisturizer for your skin. I like to use a tiny bit of this all over my body just after I get out of the shower. I don't like to use a lot as it is very greasy, so only use a tiny size amount. It really helps to hydrate any dry patches of skin that you may have.

TOP 10 CHRISTMAS MOVIES

3:57:00 pm

It's that time of year again where all I want to do is snuggle up in my bed with a cup of hot chocolate, a festive jumper and watch Christmas movies. This helps me get into the festive mood and also gets me super excited for Christmas. I've managed to round up my top 10 favourite Christmas movies that I love to watch throughout December.

  • Elf - I'm sure near enough everyone has seen this film. It's definitely my favourite out of these 10 movies. Will Ferrell plays an amazing character and his acting is spot on. The film is set in New York City therefore plays a massive part in all the decorations and pretty Christmas lights which are shown throughout the film. It just makes me want to spend a Christmas in New York and I want Buddy the Elf as my friend.
  • The Grinch - I remember watching this film all the time when I was younger and I recently re-watched it and realized how much I loved it! The set is amazing and the 'Whoville' village is just so christmassy and cute. Jim Carrey is an awesome actor and he suits the role very well.
  • Love Actually - Again, another classic Christmas movie that I can watch over and over again. There are tons of great actors and actresses in this movie. It follows the lives of various couples and their partners throughout the Christmas season.
  • Home Alone - A great film set around the Christmas period when Kevin's parents accidentally leave him at home whilst they go away for a trip, he has to fend for himself when he discovers that two con men are planning on breaking in and robbing the house. It's a really funny, family orientated film.
  • Christmas with the Kranks - This is another film that I ended up re-watching recently and realizing how much I liked it. I first watched this a few years ago and I loved the story line of it. It's about a couple that decided they wanted to take a trip to the Caribbean for Christmas however their neighbors are determined to win a 'best decorated street' competition and the Kranks find themselves to be social outcast due to the lack of Christmas Spirit.
  • A Christmas Carol - Back when I was in school before we broke up for the Christmas holidays, we would always watch this as one of the Christmas movies in class. Scrooge who is played by Jim Carrey encounters three ghosts who take him through his past, present and future in hope of transforming his horrible ways.
  • The Holiday - This is such a cute, romantic Christmas film which follows the lives of two ladies who decide to swap at Christmas time after a breakup with their boyfriends. They both find new romances however a lot happens along the way.
  • The Santa Clause - Tim Allen plays a father who is taken to the north pole and is told that he must take Santa's place before the next Christmas arrives. He ends up gaining weight and growing a white beard which takes to him as a complete shock. It's a very funny film and perfect for the family.
  • Bad Santa - Not a film that everyone would choose however I personally really like this film. It's more of a dark Christmas film and it's not for everyone as it's quite rude haha. But I'd say its a must watch if you're into comedy films.
  • Jack Frost (1998 film) - This movie never fails to make me cry. It's basically about a dad who ends up in a car accident and passing away, he never really made any time for his wife and son however he magically comes back to life but as a snowman on the front of their garden and hopes to make amends.

TOO FACED SEMI-SWEET CHOCOLATE BAR PALETTE | REVIEW & SWATCHES

3:47:00 pm

Swatches from right to left are: Bon Bon - Coconut Creme - Butter Pecan - Pink Sugar - Nougat - Mousse - Peanut Butter - Puddin' - Truffled - Frosting - Cocoa Chili - Caramel - Rum Raisin - Hot Fudge - Blueberry Swirl and Licorice

I was super excited when I got this package through the post as I have been wanting this palette for a very long time. This Too Faced Semi-Sweet Chocolate Bar palette is essentially the sequel to the first Too Faced Chocolate Bar palette which I don't actually have, however some people are claiming that the semi-sweet palette contains more warmer toned shades compared to the first palette which contained a variety of cooler toned shades.

This palette contains 7 matte shades and 9 shimmery shades making that a total of 16 shades altogether which is awesome. The palette retails for £45 and you can find it in your local Debenhams stores or online at a variety of beauty websites. Each shade in this palette is perfect for re-creating tons of different looks whether it's a day time or night time look. There's a mixture of dark browns as well as light browns and also some natural bone shades.

First Row contains:
  • Licorice - A usual matte black
  • Coconut Creme - A matte cream bone shade. Works really well as a base colour or as a matte brow bone highlight
  • Nougat - A matte pinky nude shade. Works well through the crease for a pretty daytime look
  • Truffled - A matte chocolate brown
  • Hot Fudge - A dark brown with a hint of plum undertone to it. Also has tiny specks of shimmer running through it
Second Row contains:
  • Cocoa Chili - A slightly warm milk chocolate brown with shimmer
  • Pink Sugar - A gorgeous baby pink shade that is probably more of a glitter pigment as it has very chunky specks of glitter through out therefore it's perfect over the top of other shades or to use as a highlight
  • Puddin' - A matte cooled toned brown, more on the taupe side
  • Blueberry Swirl - A shimmery blue shade that has a hint of purple to it
  • Peanut Butter - A very warm toned orange brown shade, perfect as a transition shade
  • Frosting - A bronze shimmer
Third Row contains:
  • Rum Raisin - A shimmery taupe shade
  • Mousse - A neutral brown shade, a good crease colour
  • Caramel - A coppery gold shade with specks of glitter
  • Bon Bon - Shimmery coral shade, a bit like caramel with more pink
  • Butter Pecan - Champagne shimmery shade, again another perfect highlighter shade

WHAT'S INSIDE MY MINI ACRYLIC MAKEUP DRAWERS

3:46:00 pm

When I first started getting into makeup, I would just randomly shove my products into a little makeup bag and be done with it because I'm not the most organised person. However, over the years I have collected more and more items that there's just too much for it to all to be put inside this little makeup bag, I had to have a better way of storing all this makeup. I bought this mini acrylic drawer set from TK MAXX around a year ago and have used it to store all of my most used makeup products in. I also have a 4 piece drawer cabinet that this sits on top of with more makeup inside such as all my palettes and eyelashes and powders and bronzers... the list could go on! I am only going to be sharing what's inside my little acrylic drawers today only because the rest of my makeup drawers are completely unorganized and quite frankly just looks like a pile of crap at the moment, so I'll save that one for another post. A quick disclaimer beforehand, I don't want this post to come across as if I'm bragging about anything because I'm not. These kinds of posts are some of favourites to read as I enjoy just being nosy and seeing what other people have in their collection.

On top of my drawers I have another little acrylic piece which I use to store my most used foundations and lipsticks. I got my 2 Bourjois Healthy Mix foundations, L'Oreal Lumi Magique, Rimmel Lasting Finish and a Rimmel BB Cream hiding at the back. I have an Urban Decay Setting Spray and MAC Fix+ which I like to use on a daily basis to set my makeup in place for the day. I also keep a little lip butter on the side because you can never have too much lip butter. I keep my eyelash curlers with my lipsticks because it's just easy to get hold of, and the lipsticks I put out are my most used ones of the time so it does tend to change every now and then but right now I have out my three Revlon Matte Balms in the shades Sultry, Elusive and Striking. I then have 5 MAC lipsticks in the shade Plumful, Creme in your Coffee, Taupe, Velvet Teddy and Lady Bug. Lastly, I have one Rimmel Kate Moss lipstick from her nude collection in 48. Oh, and a random lip liner!

I wish I could fit more primers in here but unfortunately only two would fit so I just stuffed in my favourite and most used which are L'Oreal Infallible Mattifying Base (which I absolutely love and it's my third tube, oops!) and then my Maybelline Baby Skin Instant Fatigue Blur in the warm apricot.

I think I've only got around 6 concealers at the moment and I stuffed my most used ones in this drawer. Urban Decay Naked Skin is definitely my favourite out of all of these as it's just incredible and does an amazing job. Then I have my Rimmel Wake Me Up, Rimmel Match Perfection and Maybelline Eraser Eye which is coming down to it's last use so I may need to get some more of that very soon.

This is a bit of a random drawer. It consists of my three most used blushes which are Glow All Out Lumizing Radiance Face Powder which has a very pretty pink sparkle to it which creates an amazing glow on the cheeks, Rimmel Lasting Finish in the shade Santa Rose, Collection Blush in the shade Bashful which is so cheap yet looks incredible. I have a random Benefit Hoola Bronzer which I only use if I want a powdered contour because I have actually been using my Too Faced Chocolate Bronzer more recently! I have two Rimmel Brow Gels one of which is clear and the other is in the shade dark brown, then I have my Anastasia Brow Pomade in the shade medium brown which is starting to dry out a bit now however I like using it with a tiny bit of my Fix+ to create it back into the mousse texture. I have two random eye liners in here also which should be in the second drawer but I couldn't fit them in so they stay here now, I have Benefit They're Real Push-Up Liner in black and L'Oreal Super Liner also in black.

This is my eye drawer I suppose as it only contains eye products! As you can see I have a little collection of the Maybelline 24hr Colour Tattoos which I have been using for years now and I still love them to pieces, I have them in the shades On and On Bronze, Metallic Pomegranate, Creamy Beige, Pink Gold and Permanent Taupe. I have a MAC Paint Pot in Soft Ochre which I use before I put on any type of eye product as a base. Then for mascaras my favourites are Maybelline Lash Sensational, Benefit Roller Lash and Rimmel Scandaleyes, I also have a mini MAC False Lashes sample which I got free with an order recently and it's incredible, I may have to splurge out on the full size product.

A LITTLE LUSH HAUL

6:40:00 pm

I have been a little quiet on this blog recently as life has been a bit hectic for me these past few weeks therefore I haven't had enough time to just sit down and do a blog post. I definitely want to start blogging a lot more it's just finding the right time to do so.

Just the other day I was looking through LUSH's website and realized that they had released there Halloween/Christmas collection, I was a little bit too excited and decided to pop into my local LUSH store and buy a few bits. There was a lot more products that I wanted to get however I thought that I'd use these up first before buying any more.

Snow Fairy Shower Gel
This is a limited edition shower gel which gets released each year for the Christmas time and it's probably one of the most popular shower gels at LUSH. I'm a big fan of sweet scents and that's why I like this product. The smell is just incredible. LUSH describe it as a sweet candyfloss scent and I do agree, although I feel like it also smells a bit like bubblegum. I've always bought this shower gel around Christmas as it's just gets me in the festive mood. If you don't enjoy really sweet scents then this is not for you!

So White Bath Bomb
I have never purchased this bath bomb before but I couldn't help myself because I just simply fell in love with the scent of this. It has a gorgeous apple scent with a hint of rose and it's literally one of my favourite bath bombs that I've ever purchased from LUSH. I want to use this one up and then go back to buy 100 more! This bath bomb contains orange flower absolute, bergamot oil, rose absolute and neroli oil.

Yog Nog Bath Bomb
I was really curious about this one as I've never smelt anything like this at LUSH before. It's such a unique, warm scent that's perfect for the autumn season. Smells like toffee with a few spices. It's a very moisturizing bath bomb as it includes Organic shea butter and soya milk powder to make it softening for the skin.

Sparkly Pumpkin Bubble Bar
The last product I got was part of the Halloween collection. Every time I pick this up, I get glitter all over my fingers and all over the floor. It smells a bit like citrus but it's also fruity at the same time, it also has a cute little cinnamon stick in the middle. You can use this up to 3 times as it is a bubble bar. I like to cut mine in sections and just crumble it under the bath water to create scented bubbles. This product contains Juniper oil, Lime oil and Grapefruit oil.

HOMEMADE APPLE LOAF CAKE

2:01:00 pm

Today's post is going to be something a little bit different to what I would normally post. It's my day off and I really felt like baking something - I love baking ever since I was little when I used to bake cupcakes and cookies with my mum. There's something about Autumn that makes me crave homemade bakes. I decided to make this Apple Loaf Cake which is honestly one of my favourite cakes to bake. It's a really simple and easy recipe, and would be perfect for family gatherings or as a treat.

You will need:
150g Caster Sugar
100g Unsalted Butter
100g Milk
2 Eggs
200g Self Raising Flour
1 Teaspoon of Vanilla Extract
1 Teaspoon of Baking Powder
1 Teaspoon of Nutmeg
2 Apples

Method:

1. Pre-heat your oven to 180 C
2. Melt your butter in the microwave until melted and add to a clean mixing bowl. Add in your sugar and mix together until pale and creamy.
3. Add in your 2 eggs and mix together. Then add in your Vanilla Extract and Milk. Give it a good whisk until smooth.
4. Time to mix in your dry ingredients. First add in the Baking Powder, then the Nutmeg and then carefully sift in the flour. Combine the ingredients together by whisking until smooth and fluffy.
5. Leave the mixture to the side for now and start to peel and chop your apples up. They can be chopped to whatever size you prefer. I like to half them twice. Sprinkle some Nutmeg on the apples if preferred.
6. Butter your loaf pan so that the mixture doesn't stick. Pour your wet mixture into the pan and spread it out evenly.
7. Use the chopped apples to poke them inside the top of the cake.
8. Cook for around 50 minutes to an hour. Make sure to stick a knife through the middle of the cake and if it comes out clean then it's cooked.

NEW MAC LIPSTICK PURCHASES | CREME IN YOUR COFFEE & TAUPE

4:52:00 pm

I seem to have a problem... I cannot stop buying MAC lipsticks. They're most definitely my favourite items to collect and I manage to be collecting an awful lot recently. I made two new lipstick purchases some point last week and I have been completely non-stop using these two shades. As you can see, they both look very similar next to each other however I promise you they are different. As autumn is approaching (my favourite time of the year may I add) I've been loving the more darker nudes and plum shades, these two will fit into my autumn lipsticks very nicely.

TAUPE is a matte finish however the formula is not like a retro matte. Instead, it's a beautiful creamy consistency that finishes as a matte whilst still manages to keep the moisture in your lips. It reminds me a lot like Velvet Teddy however it's more darker and more on the brown side and has a hint of a mauve undertone to it. I think this shade would suit every skin tone. The pigmentation is amazing, with just one swipe you get the full colour payoff.

CREME IN YOUR COFFEE is a also a beautiful brown nude colour however it leans more on the pinkish side. It's a cremesheen formula which I sometimes can find a bit drying after a while, therefore whenever my lips are dry you can start to see flakes and it's not very flattering. If you find that your lips are on the dryer side then make sure to use a lip balm before applying this product. I also noticed the other day when I wore this out was that the colour started to bleed the tiniest bit around my mouth, however it fixed the problem straight away when I use a lip pencil with it. Again, just like Taupe, this colour would suit a variety of skin tones and it's such a gorgeous everyday shade.

MAC PREP AND PRIME FIX+

8:41:00 pm

I have always wanted to give MAC Fix+ a try but never actually bought it myself. I got this little gem for my birthday a few weeks ago and I have fallen in love with it.

I much prefer products that give my skin the matte finish as I feel as if it looks better on my skin, however now that Autumn is gradually approaching, my skin is getting dryer and dryer by the minute. I always make sure to use a good moisturizer day and night to help hydrate my skin but whenever I finish putting my makeup on, my skin always somehow manages to look more on the 'cakey' side and leaves a few dry patches lying around. I have recently been spraying a few pumps of MAC Fix+ onto my skin once I've finished with my makeup and let me tell you, it does absolute wonders. It makes my dry, patchy skin look a lot more vibrant, dewy and just generally healthy looking. It also helps to cut out all of that cakeyness on the skin, making it appear more natural.

What else do I use Fix+ for?

  • Under Makeup - Spraying a few pumps and letting it dry before you put your makeup on can help with making your makeup last a lot longer on your face and also gives it a dewy finish.
  • Mixing it with foundation - If you find that you want to sheer out a very high coverage foundation then just spray this straight onto your foundation brush.
  • Eye shadows - I love using this to intensify my eye shadows making the pigment really stand out.
This product is so versatile and can be used for a lot of things. I believe every girl should own this product.

SIMPLE ROSE GOLD EYE LOOK USING ZOEVA ROSE GOLDEN PALETTE

8:45:00 pm

I haven't been posting an awful lot recently due to having sometime off work for my birthday, I felt like I just wanted to chill out with friends and family during my time off therefore that explains the lack of posts. Speaking of my birthday, I got the Zoeva Rose Golden eyeshadow palette which I have had my eye on for quite a while now. I've had many days to play around with this palette and to create many different looks - in this particular post, I'm going to explain how to create this gorgeous rose gold eye look using this palette. It's so simple and I believe anyone can achieve this and look incredible.

I like to start off by priming my eyes with MAC Soft Ochre Paint Pot just to cancel out any discolouration or veins that are visible on my lids then I like to set that with a translucent powder - I always like setting my paint pot with a powder because it helps the eyeshadows to blend out smoother and easily.

On a crease brush, I go in with the first matte shade in this palette called Luster as a transition shade through my crease. This gives more depth to my eyes and also helps with the blending of the eyeshadows. I then use the bronze shimmer shade underneath called Foil on the same crease brush and I also run that through my crease giving it a bit more definition.

Using a flat eye brush, I like to use my favourite shade in the palette which is Copper is King - It's a gorgeous reddish copper colour which looks absolutely stunning on the lids. I spray my brush with some Fix Plus by Mac before pressing this colour onto my lid. The Fix Plus really helps to bring the pigmentation out a lot more and gives the shadow a sort of 'foiled' look to my eyes. Lastly, I like to use my finger to just dab a bit of Golden Rule shade in the centre of my lid to give a sort of subtle ombre effect to the whole look. A nice finishing touch with some eyeliner and mascara, then you're done. It's such a simple everyday look and would love beautiful on everyone.

HAIR CARE ROUTINE || UPDATED

12:36:00 pm

I did a hair care routine post last year when I was first starting up with my blog however, I don't use any of those products any more and my routine has been constantly changing throughout the months. I can never stick to one routine for the rest of my life as I'm always wanting to try new products, I seem to change up my routine every few months. Today I thought I'd share with you my current routine that I've been using for my hair.

Colour
I don't colour my hair as much as I used to because my hair always used to get all dry and brittle afterwards. When I first started to dye my hair red, I used the Schwarzkopf XXL Colour 37 Hypnotic Red - I used to colour it every 3 months and it did a lot of damage to my hair. I stopped using that 3 years ago and now I only colour my hair once a year! I now use L'Oreal Casting Creme Gloss 460 Cherry Red in semi-permanent which is less harsh on my hair. In the picture above, my hair looks a lot more red than what it actually is in real life. My hair is more of a dark red/brown now and I like letting my roots grow out a lot because then it creates a nice ombre  effect.

Shampoo & Conditioner
I never stick to the same shampoo and conditioner. I always have to switch it up each month. My personal favourite shampoo & conditioner has to be either Aussie Miracle Moist or OGX Coconut Water. However this month I have been using Tresemme Luxurious Moisture as my hair has been on the dry side recently. It does a good job in getting rid of any excess oils or products in my hair and I would say it also does a good job with making my hair feel smooth and hydrated. I like to massage the shampoo into my roots but not on my ends only because the shampoo will cover the ends when I rinse it out. I then only like to put the conditioner onto the lengths of my hair rather than the roots because it gets less greasy that way. I only wash my hair twice a week, that may sound disgusting but my hair doesn't get greasy very often therefore twice a week works out fine for me.

Hair Mask
There are lots of different types of hair masks out on the markets today however I just like to use Coconut Oil. Pure, organic Coconut Oil has done wonders for the condition of my hair. It contains so many benefits for your hair such as:

  • Prevents dandruff
  • Stimulates hair growth
  • Moisturizes dry/brittle hair
  • Adds shine and softness
  • Prevents hair breakage and split ends
  • Slows down hair loss
When I want to wash my hair, I'd usually take 2 tablespoons of this product and melt it in the microwave so that it turns to a liquid, then I'd smother it all over my hair starting from my roots going down to the ends of my hair - I'd then wrap my hair up in some cling film to make sure it does the job properly and I'd usually go to bed with it on and then wash it out in the morning. If I don't have time to do that, then I'd apply it the exact same way but just leave it on for an hour or so and then wash it out. I do this once a week and my hair is in much better condition that what it used to be. I would like to point out that sometimes, I do like to wash my hair twice just to make sure that there's not excess oil left in my hair otherwise it would look extremely greasy!

Heat Protection
I do use heat on my hair about 4-5 times a week therefore I do like to keep my hair protected from any heat appliances that touch it. I don't blow-dry my hair, I like letting my hair air dry itself however I do use straighteners to curl the ends of my hair and then straighten any front bits. I use Tresemme Keratin Smooth Heat Protector Spray and I like to spray that on dry hair and let it set before I use heat tools on it. I understand that you're meant to use heat protector spray on wet hair but I prefer using it on dry and make sure that your hair dries completely before you put straighteners onto it because if it's not 100% dry, you'll hear an awful sizzling sound where you're actually burning your hair. Not good.

Oils
When I've just washed my hair, and when it's still damp - I do like to use some sort of oil. I've recently been using OGX Biotin & Collagen Weightless Reviving Oil Mist which I only spray a few times all over my hair and then brush it through with my Tangle Teezer Aqua Splash which is a brush designed for wet hair. This oil mist leaves my hair smelling amazing and also feeling smooth and thicker. It has Vitamin B7 Biotin which infused nutrients into each hair strand, it also has Collagen and Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein which creates the appearance of thicker, fuller and healthier looking hair.

RIMMEL 9-IN-1 SKIN PERFECTING BB CREAM

2:52:00 pm

I have never really been a big fan of BB Creams in the past. No idea why that was, but I just never got along with them very well. I recently been seeing reviews and also tutorials using BB Creams and decided that I wanted to pick one up and try it out again. I've wanted a face product to use on those days where I don't fancy wearing a full face of foundation therefore a BB Cream would be perfect for this.

I picked up Rimmel's 9-in-1 Skin Perfecting BB Cream and decided to wear it for a few days instead of my normal foundation so I could get a good review on it. To my surprise, the consistency of this is quite thick however doesn't feel cakey on the skin in the slightest, although I do find that it dries and sets very quickly therefore you'll have to blend this in faster. The BB Cream actually has a very nice amount of coverage, it's a light to medium I would say and you could also build it up if you'd prefer more.

This BB Cream claims to prime, moisturize, minimize pores, conceals, covers, smooths, mattifies, brightens and helps protect. It also has SPF 25 which makes this product perfect for taking on holiday with you.

I like applying this with a flat top kabuki brush as I feel that gives the best coverage for my skin. I wore this BB Cream on my face the other day when I was going out for the whole day just to see how well it would last on my skin. I did use a primer before applying the BB Cream only because I can never seem to apply anything on my face unless I use a primer first. The BB Cream seemed to hold up throughout the day however I did find that it clinged onto some of my dry patches such as around my nose and on my chin - it did go quite flaky and started to peel on those areas however the rest of my face was completely fine and it managed to stay on all through the day until I took it off in the evening. I also found that my face strongly smelt of sun screen and I think that was to do with the SPF 25 as every now and then I would get a slight whiff of the scent - it didn't put me off at all, that's just something to keep in mind before you go out and buy this product!

I overall like this product and I like it for those days where I don't want to wear a full face of foundation - it does cover and conceal any blemishes that I want hidden and it works just as well as a foundation would do but with a slightly lighter coverage.

MAC VELVET TEDDY || LIPSTICK

3:00:00 pm

MAC Velvet Teddy lipstick has been the one lipstick that I have been wanting to purchase for absolutely ages but I just never got round to doing so. However each time I saw a photo of someone wearing this lipstick, I simply fell in love with the shade over and over again and I felt like it was a lipstick that I needed in my life.

I had doubts thinking that this colour wouldn't suit my fair skin tone but I was completely wrong. This is the perfect everyday shade and it can be paired with multiple different eye looks, whether you're going for a natural or a dramatic look. The finish of this lipstick is a matte which is a bit different for me seeing as I hardly ever go for the matte lipsticks due to having quite dry lips naturally which sucks! To my surprise, the formula is not as drying as I thought it would be - it has a very creamy texture therefore glides onto the lips perfectly and it does manage to stay put throughout most of the day. I do find myself applying a clear lip balm over the top of this lipstick after a few hours just to let some moisture back into my lips because I find that it does start to dry out my lips after leaving it on for a while but then again I do expect that with a matte finish.

I have been wearing this colour on its own recently however I have seen that a lot of people like pairing this with MAC's Soar lip liner which I have yet to try!

10 BEAUTY BLOG POST IDEAS

9:25:00 pm

I wanted to do something a bit different on my blog this evening. It's a bit of a different post to what I would normally do however I feel as if this could help quite a few people as it certainly helps me whenever I have a bad case of 'writers block'. Believe it or not, sometimes one of the hardest parts of writing a blog is coming up with all the different blog post ideas to write about. When I first started this blog, I had so many ideas all at once however as time went on and as I started getting into writing more and more posts each week, I would very often just go blank and have no idea as to what I want to write about! I know that everyone can get like this at some point and I know just how frustrating it may be, therefore I have come up with 10 beauty related blog post ideas to either help you get started with your blog or for when you may have a case of the 'writers block'.

Daily Makeup Routine
I personally love reading these sort of posts. Take a few pictures of all the different products you use on an everyday basis and just blog about your makeup routine! It's actually very interesting reading about what products others use on their face everyday.

Products You've Used Up
It's a great idea to keep all of your unused empty products in a stash somewhere because it would make a great "Empties" blog post! Give us a insight of what each product was like and whether you would re-purchase it or not.

Top 10 Lipsticks/Foundations/Blushers etc.
Most of my makeup purchases have been down to reading about peoples top 10 products such as lipsticks, blushers, foundations, eye shadows - you get what I mean. Let us know why you like them and why they're in your top 10.

Review a Product
Probably one of the most common blog posts ever but we enjoy reading them. Get one of your recently purchased items or even the old items and review them. Tell us about how well they work for you, if you would re-purchase it, if you recommend it for everyone else and so on. You could review near enough anything!

Celebrity Inspired Makeup Tutorial
This is always a fun post to read. The site Pinterest is amazing for getting celebrity makeup ideas, simply find a look that you like, play around with your makeup and then write about how you created the look and what sort of products you used.

Makeup Wishlists
This is a good post not only for other people to read but also it's like a personal thing that you can always go back and look on. A wishlist is basically a round up of makeup products that you 'wish' you had or that you're hoping to buy in the future.

Products You Regret Buying
It's similar to the 'products you've used up' post however this time you're telling us about the products that you really wish you hadn't bought because they're either awful or they just don't work for you personally. Us as bloggers like to know what sort of products we should spend our money on and what sort of products we should just hit and miss.

Beauty DIY
You can watch so many DIY makeup videos if you're stuck with what to do. Play around with little bits and bobs that you have an make your own lipstick or lip balm. You could even do a homemade face mask or a homemade hair mask!

Makeup Collection
One of my most favourite posts to read is makeup collections. I love looking at how different everyone's collection is, and I also like looking at how they present and set up there makeup storage. Make sure to take lots of pictures and even go through what products you have and what brands you like the most.

MAC PRO LONGWEAR PAINT POT IN SOFT OCHRE

3:14:00 pm

I wanted to quickly review MAC Soft Ochre Paint Pot today seeing as it's become one of my most used products within the past week or so. I purchased this straight from MAC's online website for £16 - I know that may seem a bit expensive for a product that only contains just 5g however I can see this lasting me for over a year as you really do not need to use a lot of product each time.

I like using this as an eye shadow base/primer, it manages to cancel out any discoloration that I may have on my eye lids and it also helps to enhance eye shadow colour as well as helping to make your eye shadow last throughout the whole day. The formula is very creamy therefore I prefer applying this with my fingers just to make sure that it blends out nice and evenly. The product then sets to a powder finish which makes blending eye shadows really easy to do and it also does a fantastic job by preventing the shadows from creasing.

I am simply loving this product at the moment, I use it every morning when getting ready and my eye shadow seems to last a lot longer whenever I have this on underneath. I'm looking forward to purchasing more of these Paint Pots in different shades.

EBAY FINDS || AFFORDABLE MAKEUP BRUSHES

4:01:00 pm

I would like to start this post off by apologizing for the dirty looking brushes, I've been trying these out for a while to get a good review done on them and I must admit that they are definitely in need of a clean! I was wanting to expand on my makeup brush collection for a while as most of my makeup brushes are from real techniques and a few random brands. I wasn't really willing to spend a lot on just one brush to be honest, so I headed over to Ebay and had a look at some of the makeup brush sets.

I found this 10 piece Kabuki Style Brush Set for just £4.49 with FREE postage. I was so excited and clicked the 'Buy it now' button within a few seconds. Of course, I was a bit skeptical about them being so cheap however when they arrived I was impressed with how sturdy and professional these looked. I tried them out the day after and I instantly fell in love with them. They all work just as good as any of the real technique brushes - they're so soft seeing as the hair is synthetic and although their not as dense as some other brushes, they still manage to work perfectly also none of these brushes have shed for me in slightest yet which is always a good sign.

The brush set comes with 5 piece face brushes and 5 piece eye brushes. It includes:
  • Round Kabuki - I use this for my liquid foundations. It works very nicely and manages to buff the foundation into my skin for a flawless look.
  • Tapered Kabuki - Perfect to use when blending in concealer under the eye or even setting the concealer with powder.
  • Flat Kabuki - This is a good dupe of Sigma's F80 brush. It's good for buffing in liquid or cream foundations.
  • Flat Angled Kabuki - Good for blending foundation in the harder areas of your face such as around the nose and mouth.
  • Angled Kabuki - I like using this to either contour my face or I also like using this to buff in cream blushers onto my cheeks.
  • Precision Flat - Perfect for applying eye shadow primer to your lids to help eye shadow last all day long.
  • Precision Angled - I like using this to apply eye shadow in the V shape of my eyelids, it just makes things a bit more simple.
  • Precision Tapered - This brush is amazing for creating that gorgeous cut crease look. It really defines your crease to make your eyes stand out a lot more.
  • Precision Round - I like using this to apply a colour onto my lids, it's also perfect when it comes to applying cream eye shadows.
  • Precision Flat Angled - I like using this as my blending brush because where the bristles are so soft and angled it does a perfect job at blending all my eye shadow colours together making everything less harsh.
I am very happy with my quick and cheap purchase of these brushes. They look beautiful in my IKEA brush holder storage and I would defiantly like to buy some more and make my collection even bigger! The delivery process of these was very quick and easy, the item was dispatched the day after I purchased these and they then came 2 days later which was earlier than expected. I recommend everyone to check these out!
