BANDZEE HAIR BANDS

12:31:00 pm

Recently a new and upcoming hair band brand called Bandzee* very kindly sent me some of their new hair band products to try out. I was very excited about trying these as I always have to wear my hair up in a ponytail for work, normal hair bands tend to pull and tug at my hair and I always seem to lose a few strands whenever I take the bands out. Therefore anything that helps to prevent any of that is always a good bonus.

What is Bandzee?
On the website, Bandzee say that they are the new revolutionary hair bands that are kind to your hair and cute on your wrist. These hair bands are made from "super-soft" elastic trim which Bandzee describe as a top secret fabric similar to that found in your clothes and underwear. The fabric is so strong and soft that it doesn't damage your hair like normal hair bands tend to do and they also claim to not leave any kinks in your hair.

I tried this out yesterday when I was at work, I managed to wrap the hair ties 3 times and it didn't feel tight or pull on my hair in the slightest. Throughout my shift, my hair felt comfortable and I didn't get any headaches. It sounds strange but whenever I have my hair tied up for a long time, I normally tend to get headaches from my hair being pulled back constantly however this time, I got none! I took the hair tie off at the end of the day and I saw some kinks in my hair but as soon as I brushed my strands, the kinks were gone completely which I was very happy about. I also noticed that I didn't lose any hair strands when taking the band out which was satisfying to see. Do you ever find that you lose so many of your hair bands? I do all the time and I have no idea where they go. With Bandzee hair bands, you're sure to never lose another one again as these sit comfortably and fashionably on your wrist. You can also just simply wrap the bands straight onto the card again.

Bandzee come in packs of 4 unique designs with a inspirational quote on each card. You can purchase these hair bands separately for £5.95 a pack or you can sign up for a monthly subscription so that you're never without a hair band again! The monthly subscription costs just £4.95 a month and postage is completely free. Each month you'll be sent out a brand new set of Bandzee hair ties through your letterbox. At first I thought £5.95 for a pack of 4 hair bands could be a little bit on the pricey side however after trying them out and realizing they work much better than the cheap hair ties, I think it's such a reasonable price. They don't damage your hair and they are much softer and more comfortable than normal hair ties. You'll never have a bad hair day again!

Head over to Bandzee to either purchase or sign up today.

7 BEAUTY HACKS EVERY GIRL NEEDS TO KNOW

2:19:00 pm

Picture source: Google // Edited by: Me
There has been so many beauty hacks/makeup hacks/ hair hacks floated around on the internet recently and I don't know about you guys but I love trying out new hacks that will hopefully make my life a bit easier when it comes to my beauty regime. I thought today I'd share with you my top 7 favourite beauty hacks which I think every girl needs to know about.

1. Using Coconut Oil to take off eye makeup
Sometimes it can be a pain to take off eye makeup, especially if you use waterproof mascara. I have tried a ton of cleansers and makeup removers however none of them work as well as just plain and simple Coconut Oil. It really helps me to break down and dissolve any product without taking up too much time, it's also very good for your lashes as it helps to condition them at the same time.

2. Pencil Eyeliner
Have you ever had that one pencil eyeliner that looks good when swatched on the back of your hand but just doesn't show up as pigmented as you'd like it to when applied in your waterline? All you have to do is get some sort of lighter or match and put the tip of the pencil into the flame for 1-2 seconds and let it cool down completely. Your pencil will now have turned into more of a pigmented gel like formula which will last you throughout the entire day.

3. Mascara hack for longer eyelashes
I learned this little trick off of Ebony Day on YouTube, tried it for myself and it actually works! The trick is to curl your eyelashes like normal and then apply your mascara in a downwards motion (apply the mascara on top of your lashes and brush downwards) then just simply apply the mascara as normal and I can assure you that you'll be left with much longer/thicker looking lashes.

4. Using card or tape to get the perfect winged eyeliner
I am rubbish when it comes to eyeliner especially when I try to re-create that perfect cat flick. Recently I've been using either a piece of card or even some tape to help guide me. Don't worry if you get some eyeliner on the tape because at the end you can just take the tape off and you have achieved your perfect winged liner look.

5. Spot cleaning your eye brushes using tape
Do you ever find when you're doing your eye makeup, that sometimes you completely forget to spot clean the product off the brushes afterwards therefore next time you use them, you make a mistake of adding that colour onto your eyes when you don't want it there? I do it all the time. I found a quick and easy trick to help get rid of any left over product build up on a brush by using tape. Fold the tape so that the sticky part is facing outwards, place on to some tissue or paper towel and start running your brush back and forth on the tape. The product comes straight off and sticks onto the tape.

6. Use lip balm as an eyebrow gel
If you're running low or simply don't have any eyebrow gel on hand then a little trick is to pick up some lip balm (any lip balm will do, I prefer to use Vaseline) and just brush a little bit of that through the brows to help keep them in place for the day. Vaseline will also help to moisturize your eyebrows.

7. Making a lipstick matte
If you want your regular lipstick to become a matte lipstick then simply apply to your lips and cover your lips with tissue, then apply some translucent powder over the top of the tissue. Pull away and you have a gorgeous matte lip. This will also prevent the lipstick from smudging on your teeth!

MY MAKEUP STORY TAG

2:32:00 pm

Today's post is going to be something a little bit more chatty and different. When I first started blogging, I loved reading and writing tag posts because I love the fact that I could get to know a little bit more about some of my favourite bloggers. I thought to myself the other day that I haven't actually written a tag post in quite a while and I kind of miss it, therefore whilst browsing through the internet, I came across this beauty related tag called My Makeup Story and thought I'd give it a go.
I tag: tmcmakeup // LittleMissGlam // ohitssare // Life By Becky

1. How old were you when you started wearing makeup?
I was probably around 12/13 when I started wearing makeup. I didn't get into foundation until I was about 14 and I used to use Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse foundation which I'm sure every girl used at some point in their lives haha. When I first started I only used to wear some blush, eyeshadow, eyeliner and mascara.

2. How did you get into makeup?
I'm such a girly girl and I've always been interested in makeup from a young age but as I got older and older my love for makeup just increased. My best friend and fellow blogger Taylor (tmcmakeup) is also really into makeup therefore we literally talk about new products all the time!

3. What are some of your favourite brands?
Revlon, MAC, Too Faced, Urban Decay, Benefit and Maybelline.

4. What does makeup mean to you?
I think for me, makeup is a massive hobby. I like to see it as a form of art. I also like how it can be a way to hide or enhance certain features.

5. If you could only wear 4 products on your face, what would they be?
Foundation, Bronzer, Mascara and Lipstick.

6. What's your favourite thing about makeup?
Being able to play around with different colours and products to achieve a variety of looks.

7. What do you think about drugstore makeup vs high end makeup?
I think it shouldn't matter whether makeup is drugstore or high end, I like buying the products that work good and well with my skin. I own some high end products but I also believe that there's no point in spending so much money on something when there's a cheaper drugstore dupe that works just as well. I love both drugstore and high end makeup!

8. What is one tip of advice you can give a beginner?
Keep practicing. When I first started out, I had no clue what I was doing and I ended up making so many mistakes. Makeup is just makeup, it wipes off and you can practice it over and over again.

9. What is one makeup trend you never understood?
Strobing. It's not like I don't understand it, it's just I don't know how to do it properly! Whenever I try, I end up looking like a over glittery mess.

10. What do you think about the beauty community on YouTube?
I love how there is so many videos regarding to the whole beauty sector side of things. YouTube is the main place where I learned how to do my makeup and it's also where I got most of my product recommendations from. I like it's a great way to express yourself and your love of makeup.

TOO FACED SWEET PEACH PALETTE

11:32:00 am

I'm very excited about this post as I'm going to be sharing with you one of my recently most used eyeshadow palette which I have been loving and using near enough every single day. I was extremely excited when I managed to purchase this Too Faced Sweet Peach palette on the website the day it got released. The website actually broke down on the day because there was so many people trying to purchase this - after an hour of trying to re-fresh the page, I finally managed to get through! This palette is only limited edition and I believe they don't actually sell this anymore on the website.

Too Faced are my favourite brand when it comes to eyeshadow palettes, every single one of them have the most amazing quality eyeshadows which last for absolutely ages. This palette contains 18 eyeshadows with a variety of different shades such as corals, pinks, bronzes and purples which makes this palette perfect for the spring/summer time. If you didn't already know, the Too Faced Chocolate Bar palettes smell like chocolate where as this palette smells like peaches! It's incredible. Each eyeshadow is very unique and a lot different to anything that I own. I'd say the eyeshadows work better with an eye primer beforehand as it helps with the blending and the longevity of the shadows.

Nectar - Frosted finish. A light shimmery golden yellow.

HOW TO DE-CLUTTER YOUR MAKEUP COLLECTION

1:17:00 pm

As a beauty blogger and an obsessed makeup junkie, it is extremely easy for me to constantly keep adding beauty products to my collection. It's something that I've been doing for years, I'll buy more and more makeup and then one day my collection will look very untidy and just a complete mess. I am such a hoarder when it comes to makeup, I hate having to throw products away! Very recently, I plucked my ideas up and I decided it was about time to have a huge makeup clear out. So today, I thought I'd share some tips on how to de-clutter your makeup collection.

Sort into categories
First off, make sure you get every single item of makeup out of your drawers/bags and sort each item into categories. For example, make a pile full of lipsticks and then another pile full of face powders and so on. This will actually give you a clear picture of what items you have and you'll be sure to stumble across a few that you forgot you even owned.

Throw away expired makeup
This was so hard for me to do as I hate having to throw away unfinished makeup products. I never realised how important it was to throw away any expired makeup - using any old makeup can actually cause bacteria infections which is never good. Go through each pile one by one and throw away anything that is old. You'll know when a product has expired because it'll usually give off a funny smell but here's a list of how long products last:
Mascaras: 2-3 months
Liquid Eyeliner: 6 months - 1 year
Liquid Foundation: 6 months - 1 year
Concealer: 6 months - 1 year
Cream Eye shadow: 1 year
Lip-gloss: 1 year
Lipstick: 2 years
Powder Eye shadow: 2 years

Give items away
Now that you've thrown out any expired products, it's time to go through each pile again and find all the items that you don't use anymore. If there's products that you haven't used in a good 2-3 months then it's about time you should give it away to either friends or family members who will probably use it more than yourself.

Organise
Now that you have successfully de-cluttered your makeup collection, make sure to put everything back into your drawers/bags neatly because it looks pretty that way and it makes it a lot easier to find products. I like using random old boxes or containers to put items in and I like storing them back into my drawers in order. You can even label each box according to what products are inside there. You now have more space to add any new makeup product that you next purchase into your collection. To stay on top of your collection, it's recommended to do this every year.

How often do you de-clutter your collection?

LUSH ROSY CHEEKS FACE MASK

5:16:00 pm

I adore using Lush face masks for my skin. I suffer with very sensitive skin and many face masks on the market tend to give me some sort of allergic reaction and my face ends up becoming all red and blotchy and even swollen. I have found that Lush face masks are just about the only masks I can actually use on my skin as there organic and natural ingredients don't irritate my skin in the slightest. I've tried many of there masks before such as the famous Cupcake mask to my favourite which is the Oatifix one.

I decided to pick up Rosy Cheeks face mask which I consider to be more of a soothing mask for the skin. It's main ingredient is something called Calamine which acts as a calming agent for the skin, it's main uses is to relieve redness, stinging and irritation of the skin. I was very excited when I heard about this because I have suffered from redness of the skin especially in my cheeks ever since I was little and I have tried so many different products to try and help with it but nothing has massively worked so far. I found with just after one use of this product, I didn't wake up the next morning with redness all over my cheeks like I normally do which was incredible. I can honestly say that this mask has really helped to reduce the redness in my skin and help calm my face.

The calamine and kaolin in this mask will help to gently remove any dirt from the skin whilst the rose oils nourishes and tones your face. I've been using this mask twice a week and my skin is loving it, it hasn't broke me out at all either. My skin feels incredibly soft and hydrated once this has been rinsed off and I have also noticed that my makeup has been going on a lot more smoother recently which is such a bonus. This is something I would definitely recommend to those who suffer with redness and sensitive skin, I would 100% purchase this item again.
