FREEDOM PRO LIPSTICK BARE COLLECTION

Thursday, 28 July 2016

I popped into my local Superdrug store and saw that they had a brand new makeup counter dedicated to Freedom Makeup. I believe they're a fairly new brand of makeup and they're from the creators of Makeup Revolution. As I was browsing through, I immediately noticed that the brand was a lot similar to makeup revolution as they both have the same packaging however Freedom sell a range of different products that makeup revolution don't do. The one product that caught my eye the most was these lipstick collections which contains 5 full size lipsticks for just £5.

I picked up the Bare collection which contains a bunch of nude shades as I tend to lean towards those the most on a daily basis. If you're not into nudes then that's okay, as they also sell a pink, red, vamp and a galaxy collection therefore there's something for everyone. I wasn't expecting much of these lipsticks as they're only retailed for £1 each. I was however pleasantly surprised with the colour pay off, I thought the pigmentation of these were quite good considering the price range. They're more on the sheer side however I think they work really nicely when you want just a pop of colour on your lips.
Here are the swatches of all 5 lipsticks. From top to bottom we have: 111 Untouched, 115 Mannequin, 114 Naked Beauty, 112 Sooner or Later and 113 Whispers.

There's a range of pink toned nudes as well as brown nudes. As you can see the colour payoff is pretty good for a £1 each lipstick. They feel extremely moisturising on the lips and they last for a good few hours before the colour starts to wear off. You can purchase Freedom Makeup from Superdrug or on their website at: Freedom Makeup
I'm definitely looking forward to trying out some more of their products in the future.

What do you think of these colours? Have you tried anything from Freedom Makeup?

PERFECT POUT THE NATURAL LIP ENHANCER

Monday, 25 July 2016

I feel like the 'fuller lip' trend is becoming a lot more popular these days ever since the whole hype over Kylie Jenner and her plump lips. I was a bit terrified when the whole 'Kylie Jenner lip challenge' came about as I saw some that absolutely scarred me for life and I think it was such a dangerous way of trying to make your lips fuller. I was very excited when Perfect Pout* got in touch with me to review there natural lip enhancer.

I naturally have quite plump lips as it is, however I've always been a bit self conscious about my top lip, it's not as full as my bottom lip and doesn't have much of a nice shape to it. I believe this comes in 3 different sizes and I got the small oval size purely to focus just on my top lip. All you have to do to make this work is apply a small amount of lip balm to help moisturise your lips and then position the perfect pout in the centre of your lips and simply suck in until it locks firmly onto them. You leave this on for about 30 seconds until you take them off and apply your desired lipstick over the top of your natural plumped lips.

This product took me a while to get used to as I wasn't able to achieve a good suction and the product just ended up falling off of my lips everytime I tried. I began to apply less lip balm and found that it helped a great amount as I found that it didn't seem to slide off as much and I got a better suction. This product isn't going to make your lips full permantly but I found that it lasted for a good few hours before they wore off and went back down to size again. I never thought that I'd use a lip enhancer as part of my routine yet I feel like it's now become an essential part of my beauty routine everyday as its so quick and easy, it literally takes a few seconds and you've got beautiful plumped lips for a good few hours.

The product is completely 100% safe to use and it shouldn't hurt in the slightest, you should only feel a tad bit of pressure on your lips. I'm really enjoying this product so far, it's much cheaper than paying money for lip injections and also a lot quicker than over drawing your lips each day. I believe this product is sold in selected Debenhams stores at Archangelz counters.

How do you feel about natural lip enhancers? Have you tried any?

CUPPA JOE COFFEE BODY SCRUB

Friday, 22 July 2016

Cuppa Joe very kindly sent me one of their Coffee Body Scrubs* to try out and review for you all. What is Cuppa Joe? It's a brand that sells a variety of 100% natural and organic body and face coffee scrubs. They were created to target eczema, acne, cellulite, stretch marks and dry skin using caffeine from Arabica beans and cold pressed oils.

They have a 6 different scents of body scrubs which include: chocolate & orange, coffee & coconut, coffee & grapefruit, lime & almond, st Clements and coco vanilla. I chose the St Clements scrub as I love anything that's citrus. I would like to point out that if you're not a lover of the coffee scent then I don't think you'll like this product as of course, it has a very strong coffee smell with a slight hint of the citrus oils, however as soon as you use a body wash afterwards the smell immediately goes which is good.

This particular coffee scrub contains orange oil and lemon oil bound together with extra virgin coconut oils and macadamia oil. Flakes of sea salt and unrefined sugars which help to buff your skin. The coffee grounds feel very soft on your skin yet they do the job well without feeling sharp or rough.

I like using this whilst my body is a bit damp from the shower and then I simply take a big handful of product and buff it all over my body using my hands, making sure I concentrate on my most dry areas such as my shoulders and elbows. You're meant to leave this on for about 5-10 minutes and then rinse off and use your regular body wash. My skin immediately feels refreshed and smooth afterwards, I love using this in the morning to help wake me up. I feel like I don't need to use a body lotion or moisturiser afterwards as the oils inside this product help to keep the moisture in my skin. Having used this coffee scrub multiple times now I can give it a huge thumbs up from me. My skin has never felt so smooth before.

Purchase Cuppa Joe body scrubs here.  They retail for £12.50.

TANYA BURR BIRTHDAY SUIT EYE PALETTE

Monday, 18 July 2016

When I found out that Tanya Burr was bringing out a brand new range of her beauty products, of course I had to get something. I already love the quality of her other eyeshadow palettes and when I was browsing through her new line, this one stood out to me the most. I wanted to pick up one of her matte lip products however the one I wanted was unfortunately sold out.

I picked up the Birthday Suit palette which is a warm toned eyeshadow palette consisting of 4 very pigmented shades.
From top to bottom we have: Marzipan, Toast, Cocoa Sugar and Soft Truffle.

The palette cost £5.99 which I think is very affordable for the quality of these shadows. Each shade is so pigmented and also easily buildable. They all have a beautiful creamy texture to them which makes each shadow easy to blend out. I wasn't a big fan of Tanya's packaging on her eyeshadow palettes as I didn't really like the cardboard look however I do really love the rose gold packaging of this one and I love the cute little polka dots printed over the front. It comes with a cute heart shaped mirror inside which is perfect for applying on the go. I feel like this palette is perfect for beginners as it contains gorgeous neutrals for an everyday look however you can also dress this up a little and create the perfect smokey eye look with more of the darker shades. I love how there's a mix of mattes and shimmers, it's very versatile and I feel you can can create some gorgeous looks with this.

Have you tried any of Tanya's new products?

A LITTLE NYX HAUL

Tuesday, 12 July 2016

As most of you are probably aware, NYX Cosmetics has become more and more popular in the UK since it's become more available and easier to get. Boots have actually started selling NYX products online and some Boots stores have NYX Cosmetics stands which I find very exciting. I haven't really ventured out and tried many NYX products before, therefore I ended up going on Feel Unique to have a browse through and of course I ended up purchasing some goodies.

This concealer retails for just £5.50 on Feel Unique. I wanted to get the lightest shade which was 01 Porcelain however it was out of stock so I ended up getting the second lightest which is 03 Light. When I swatched this on my hand for the first time, I wasn't too sure about it as it has a very pink undertone to it and I normally go for concealers that have a slight yellow tone however once blended into my skin, it seem to match really well. It's a very light weight concealer but has high coverage at the same time and it doesn't seem to crease or look cakey on my skin. They sell a variety of different shades for every skin tone and they even sell a Lavender, Green and Yellow shades for colour correcting.

The only brow pomade I've tried is the Anastasia Beverly Hills pomade however the product ended up drying out very quickly so now I've got so much product left but I can't use it properly which sucks considering the price I paid for it. This NYX product cost me £5.50 and you near enough get the same amount of product as the ABH one. I got the shade 02 Chocolate which is the second lightest one and it's a perfect colour match for me, I think anything darker would just be too dark for my brows. I found this product to be very creamy in consistency which I liked as it made it very easy to use and it glided onto my brows like a dream. It's also very pigmented therefore you only need the tiniest amount of product. I'd also liked to point out that it's smudge-proof and waterproof.
I've been wanting to get my hands on these liquid lipsticks for ages. My friend Taylor over at tmcmakeup has a few of these and I tried one of them one when I was round her house, I instantly fell in love with them and new I had to get some for myself. The lipsticks cost £6.50 each which I think is an amazing price for such good quality/long lasting liquid lipsticks. I picked up 2 shades, Ruffle Trim which is the top shade - it's a warm brown with a slight peachy tone to it, perfect for an everyday nude. I also picked up Teddy which is one of the darker shades of the whole collection, it's more of a cooler toned brown. The lipsticks dry completely matte within a couple of seconds after applying and they last for ages on the lips. I have to use something oily to get break down the product when I want to take it off at the end of the day.
NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams // Berlin & Moscow
Can you tell that I'm really loving liquid lipsticks at the moment? I see so many people raving about these lip creams all the time. I would recommend this product to those who don't really like to feel of drying matte liquid lipsticks, as these feel so much lighter and more creamier on the lips. Berlin (the top shade) is a warm brown with a slight purple undertone, it reminds me a lot of Whirl by MAC. Moscow (bottom shade) is a shade I never thought I'd go for, its gorgeous navy blue shade. It's a lot less pigmented than Berlin however you can easily build the product up. One thing I love the most about these is the scent, they smell like vanilla cake it's incredible! These retail for £5.50 each.

HOW I USE MY BULLET JOURNAL

Monday, 11 July 2016

I feel like Bullet Journals have become a lot more popular within the whole blogging community, I happened to get caught up in the whole hype of Bullet Journaling and of course I wanted to try it out for myself. What is a Bullet Journal? To cut it short, a Bullet Journal is essentially your own personalized planner. You can use it to jot down your to-do lists, goals, events, recipes and anything else that you may want to write down. I started my Bullet Journal back in April with no idea as to what I wanted to do with it, however I found so much inspiration over Pinterest and also just by reading other blogs therefore I'm hoping that this post could give anyone who is wanting to start Bullet Journaling a bit of inspiration. For other ideas on how to get started, check out this useful website: bulletjournal //

On the first page of my journal I set up my very own key page. These are basically little personalized symbols in which you can use throughout your journal. For example, I've used a simple square key to represent any tasks that I need to do, once those tasks are completed I'll tick the box, if I move the task to a different day then I'll put an arrow in the box or if I've cancelled the task altogether then I'll draw a cross through it. This is the same for my event and appointment keys. I use a bullet point key for any additional notes that I want to write down. I use a clock key for when I need to get something done by a deadline, and I end up writing what it is that I need to get done and also the date to get it done by. I use a star key for any important information that I need to remember. I don't use the question mark key very often but it's for when I'm not sure about an idea so I just put a question mark next to it, and lastly I've got the inspiration and idea's key - I use the inspiration key next to any quotes that I like to write down and I use the idea's key for when I come up or think of an idea that I want to do in the future. I then have a 2016-2017 layout page just so I can see where I started and when I finish my journal by. It's also one of my favourite pages because of how pretty it looks.

My 2016 goals page is one of the pages that I always seem to come back to the most just to reflect on my goals and to see how far I've come to achieving them. The journal then goes straight into my daily logging pages. I like to write down the date and I also like to write down what the weather is like that day by drawing cute little sun, rain or cloud symbols. I then like to start off by writing down what tasks/events/appointments I'll be doing that day, obviously some days will be a bit busier than others. As the day goes by, I'll either add any additional things or I'll tick tasks off the list. One of my 2016 goals was to drink more water therefore I like to track my water intake and write it down in my journal at the end so I can see whether I progress, I also like to track my Twitter follows. I have a page for my planning routine which is basically a guide through what I do with my bullet journal throughout the day. The night before I like to cross off my daily log, write down water intake and also reflect on how my day went. The morning of I like to add tasks/events/appointments of the day, look back at my goals page and also make any additional notes. Then throughout the day I like to cross off things as I go, make any more additional notes if needed, focus on tasks and keep track of water intake and stats.

I like to keep a blog post page in my journal to stay up to date with my posts. This is an older blog post page as I do have a newer/updated version however it's not 100% complete yet which is why I'm showing you the older one. I like to use the idea symbol and then write down the blog post idea, once I've written and published it, I simply write 'done' and a tick next to it. My new blog post page goes more into detail and I like to bullet point some information down to make sure I add that into the post. Moving onto my checklist page, I did this a few days before I went to Amsterdam therefore when it came down to packing everything, I just looked at this page and it helped me to remember to pack everything that I needed. I'm for sure going to use this idea again when I next go on holiday as I find it so handy.

I went through a phase where I had a completely blank brain and I had no idea what else I wanted to put inside my journal. I took to Pinterest and found a lot of inspiration through it. I created my bullet journal ideas page and wrote down all the page ideas that I'd like to put in my journal at some point. Whenever I get stuck with a page idea, I always seem to come back to this for help. I've started doing a recipe to try page which is pretty self explanatory, whenever I find a good recipes that I'd like to try in the future, I make sure to write every single bit down. My keeping tidy page was written when I was wanting to become more organised with my stuff, this page has a step by step on how to keep tidy and organised, it also has categories for different things such a my clothes, books and electronics.
One of my favourite pages to write is a tips page, I find that they're always really handy to come back to whenever I want some inspiration on specific topics. This page is tips all about how to stay inspired and it gives you a list of what to do when you're feeling uninspired. I also have a health one and a makeup one.

I hope this has given at least person a bit of inspiration and motivation when it comes down to Bullet Journaling. What are your thoughts on Bullet Journals?

BOUTIQUE OF MOLLY // REVIEW

Friday, 1 July 2016

A few weeks ago, I was contacted by a new and upcoming fashion brand Boutique of Molly who asked me if I would be interested in trying out some of their clothes from the website. Of course, as a fashion junkie I immediately jumped at the opportunity! They very kindly gave me a 30% discount code to use when picking out what I wanted.

The first item I chose was this gorgeous Seema Off the Shoulders top. Off the shoulder tops are very on trend right now as we are coming into the summer months. This top has short flared sleeves and it's elasticated around the shoulders making it fit perfectly and also making it very comfortable to wear. The top has a slight dip hem style around the bottom of it which I really love. I love how plain and simple this top is as I feel like you can pair it up with different jeans and shoes to make it a casual top or a dressy top for a night out.

The next top I chose is definitely my favourite out of the two, this is the Pia Crochet Off the Shoulder top. Once again, another off the shoulder top because I'm simply loving them at the moment. This one is more of a cropped top and it has longer sleeves. I love the lace detailing at the end of the sleeves. I would recommend wearing either a white strapless bra or a white bandeau top underneath this as it can be a tad bit see through. Once again, this top is very comfortable to wear and it can styled for a casual day out or paired with some gorgeous heels for a girls night out.

The style and layout of the Boutique of Molly website is very easy to use and navigate around which is always a good thing. I really liked the fact that each of the clothes are shown on the model so we have a good idea of what the items look like whilst on. Boutique of Molly are constantly updating there website and always adding new items to it which is fab, I seem to find myself constantly going on there site to have a browse through all the new bits.

Boutique of Molly deliver directly to your door and if you place an order before 3pm, then your parcel will be sent out on the same day as your order. UK and Northern Ireland delivery costs £3.99 and it usually takes 1-2 days to be delivered although some Northern Ireland deliveries can take a bit longer. They also send out there items first class with Royal Mail. They also ship worldwide! When I ordered my clothes, they arrived 2 days later which I was very impressed with. The customer service are really helpful and they managed to respond within a few hours. I'm overall very happy with my purchases and I will continue to purchase from this website, I believe the quality of the clothes are fab and the prices are affordable.
